How to export Bank of Montreal (BMO) transactions to CSV

Step-by-step instructions to download your transaction history for use with Prosperi.

Steps

  1. 1Access your BMO online banking portal
  2. 2Choose your account from the account list
  3. 3Find and click the "Download" option located above your transaction history
  4. 4Specify your desired date range
  5. 5From the "Download format" dropdown, choose "Spreadsheet (CSV format)"
  6. 6Click the "Download" button to export
  7. 7Save the file to your Desktop or chosen location. The file will include a ".csv" extension
  8. 8We recommend you rename the file indicating the type (credit, chequing etc) and the date range for organization

Pro tips

  • โ€ข Download 3โ€“6 months of data at a time for best results.
  • โ€ข Make sure to select "CSV" format (not PDF or QFX).
  • โ€ข Rename the file with the account type and date range (e.g. td-chequing-2025-01.csv) for organization.

Once you have your CSV, upload it to Prosperi to see your spending categorized automatically.
